Fire Engineering Training Community

Where firefighters come to talk training

Public Safety Career Information Center (Non-Profit Grant Project)

In addition to several other "hats" one wears, developing your future candidate pool or applicant pool is always a concern. Despite the economy,  firefighters or other public safety personnel will always be needed, even with cutbacks. Recently, the California Community College Chancellor's Office funded a grant to establish a statewide public safety web resource to hopefully reach out to potential candidates/applicants who may be interested in careers in firefighting, law enforcement, corrections, forensics, dispatching, and support services within the public safety field . While it is geared toward a pre-service audience, we felt that the more we could get professional firefighters or other public safety personnel involved as a resource/coach/mentor/ or just giving some great advice, it would benefit us all down the road. Once the pre-service people get through a community college program, then they literally could be hired anywhere in the U.S. or globally for that matter. So if you'd like to just check in to see what's going on, and review some of our great video's that do include a few fire departments and fire academies, be our guest! We have finally figured out Facebook, but are still pretty new to it, although there seem to be more "students" joining all the time.  If you just go to our main web site, which is http://publicsafetyinfo.org you'll see what's going on and you'll also see the links to Facebook and other areas of interest. We would encourage any of you who are in recruiting, training or academies to check it out and ... we will be happy to link your recruiting efforts to our site as well.  Thanks, Rick M.
