The town of Rotterdam NY and County of Schenectady NY, may be looking to shut down the Rotterdam Chiefs Association Training Center , by forcing the Town Fire Departments not to do Live Fire Training , because the Town and County are relocating the Little league fields next door, but have no issue with smell from the sewer treatment plant next door.
The Town Chief have agreed that they will continue to Live Fire Training and will submit letters to the Town Board and Planning Board stating this . The Training center has a 99 year lease with the Town , and was built in 1970 by the town with the approval of the taxpayers . The training center is the only one in Schenectady County and is used by the County to offer State fire Courses.
