<p>You can also try vests. In my first volunteer dept Fire Explorers (essentially the same as exterior members) had to wear a blue vest with identification on it if they were operating on the fire ground.</p>

<p>I think we are most likely leaning towards an outwards sticker on the members helmets to help identify them. The helmets are what I was thinking at first but one, our EMS wears blue and two the cost is undo for our little department with an even smaller budget! Thank you both for your suggestions though, greatly appreciated!</p>

<p>Accountilbilty Tag - they carry 2 Yellow for Truck Assignment , Red for Exterior Status</p>
<p>Orange/ Red Stickers on their Helmet and A 'E" on the back of their Helmet E= Exterior</p>
