- Born in 1978, have had a job other than the fire service and know the value of such work. I realize that this is the greatest job in the world. I respect the job as well as love the job. I feel that the Fire service family is one of the greatest assets to this job and should be respected as well. I enjoy tinkering in technology and have been known to be a bit of a tech geek, but I have mechanical skills in my blood as well, must be my fathers work as a mechanic. I have three awesome children and a loving and understanding wife. I work on two departments and am still employed at my original department and hold the rank of Station Captain after 12 years of service. I am a career FF/Medic at my other department and have been on staff there since 1998. I wish all of you a safe and enjoyable journey in this profession of fire and emergency services.
