I began my career as a volunteer with Leah ( Later North Columbia ) Fire and also with my current department Martinez-Columbia Fire Rescue. I started my paid career with City of Harlem (Ga.) Fire in 2001 and moved full time to MCFR in 2004. I am part time staff with Georgia Fire Academy, Augusta Technical College, and with Emergency Response Technologies.

David, I admire you for that. It was an honorable thing to do. Very thoughtful. It never ceases to amaze me how selfless firefighters are. Every single one I know, whether it be in real life, or in cyberspace, is that way. I wish everyone could be as selfless as firefighters are.

John's Creek is a really great place to live, and everyone is really excited about all the positive changes taking place. I don't know if you actually applied for a spot at the new FD or not, but I do know they were covered up with people who wanted to work there. They were only hiring experienced FF's, too, and they still had a ton of applicants.

I'm not sure WHAT my son will end up doing; I suppose time will tell. I sure hope he hurries it up, though. :-)
