I was planning to go on B shift with Dunc and those guys. We just had a big transfer list come out and some of the guys were transfered out. Dunc, kenny Joe, Buck, Rapp, Vogt, are still their. vogt went to the squad. Their are 4 new guys to the squad and one to the pumper. No one has any of the task force training nor do they have trench collapse training.

Dusty, a relief lieutenant fills and covers for a promoted LT when on vacation or sick. In other words, I'm not "promoted" yet to the lieutenant position just act as one when needed. Make sense?

thnks for joining CSF (Common Sense Firefighting). It a page about desison making on the fire ground. We have a very good discussion on ventilation that turned into pro and cons of Vent , enter , search and PPV fans.
I see you're on Kansas City. What is your first alarm manning response?

Dusty we are in the process of starting a Rescue Company . We have the personnel selected and in place at our station 5. And we have a Pierce Velocity 39.5 ft Non-walk in Rescue on order. We are on the process of training our 30 members to Tech level in Water,Ice, Trench, Collapse, Confined Space and Rope. We have a long way to go but we will get there. For now the rescue will be cross staffed with the ladder but on any Tech rescue call, all of station 5 will go. Also we now have a dedicated Haz-Mat team at station 4.
