Thanks for the update. The rats must have left because I think they were holding it up It was built on landfill and had big cracks in the walls 30 years ago so I expect the fill just kept sinking.

What happened to get 13s closed. I never heard about that happening.
When I was Capt there we had BIG rats living along the old subway bed and the station grounds. We had an idea that we could kill the rats by pour gasoline down the holes by the fence line. When it blew up the whole station rocked but luckliy did no damage to the station and the rats lived on. One night we killed 6 or 7 inside the station and hung them from their tails from a tree like sufari trophys.

I really have traveled around quite a bit after retiring from RFD. I was lucky enough to be Chief in 3 departments and learned a lot from each but RFD always was a real leader in the fire service.
I see from the cartoon that you are at E13. I loved being Capt at 13's
Stay safe

Jonathan, I was glad I could help today. We could use your input in our Tactical Building Blocks group. We are on page 2 of groups.
This group will focus on aggressive interior firefighting. We will address tactics that increase your chance of not getting jammed up and cover what actions to undertake if you do.We will cover some big issues as well as small tactical tips
