Followed in my fathers footsteps and joined the fire service in 1996 as a volunteer with J.U.G.A. (Bellmore) VFD. Through my twelve years of service I have held positions of Vice-President (1year), Assistant Fire Chief (4 years), and current position of Fire Chief (4 years). During my years of service I have seen and assisted with the building of a new station, bidding and purchasing of the first two new apparatus since 1972, and the creation of Parke Counties first Fire Protection District (sad thing is the Parke County Council has denied a budget for the past two years).
Have made great progress in training for the department and
myself. I currently hold the following certifications: FF I/II,Fire Officer Strategy and Tactics, Fire Officer I, Fire Instructor I, Hazmat Awareness and Operations, Nims Awareness and Operations, Structural Collapse Awareness, Swift Water Rescue Awareness, Rope Rescue Awareness, Confined Space Rescue Awareness, Trench Rescue Awareness, Wilderness Rescue Awareness, Vehicle/Machinery Rescue Awareness, Basic Passenger Vehicle Extrication, Advanced EMT, and currently involved in Paramedic Classes.
