Yes it is...it is now part of New York University. The Asch Building is at 23-29 Washimgton Place and has a plaque on the side of the structure. A commemoration is held there every year.
By the way, the new FF I FF II handbook that I am editing for Fire Engineering has a tremendous chapter dedicated to fire history written by one of the nation's top fire historians. Much more detailed and accurate than the others....
