Where firefighters come to talk training

I'm working on developing some standard tactics based upon types of occupancy to which we respond; basically, rather than just saying 2 story SFD on an approach report, I'd like to hear one or two words that are a little more descriptive.  For instance, 2 story bungalow, 3 story center hallway apartment, etc.  Knowing that there are an infinite number of occupancies and layouts, I was wondering what terminology everyone uses for common occupancies in their first-due?  How do you define them (ie what makes a garden apartment in your area a garden apartment?)

It comes down to knowing your city so everyone is on the same page. a 2 1/2 wood in new haven is all i need to say and we all have the same image in our city. Talk to your drivers and line officers as a good starting point.
