Where firefighters come to talk training

Have you seen the recent articles, classes and information on hoarding? It is a real problem for us as a society and for us as firefighters.

The dangers are obvious based on the conditions of the homes and buildings we have to enter and search. It can make our push very slow and can easily disorient us with so many obstacles.

Just like with these homes, some firefighters are hoarders. Not in the sense that they hoard in their homes like we mentioned above, but they don't share.

Many firefighters will attend classes and never pass on or share the lessons learned from those trainings or educational experiences. They either hoard that information for their own gain, wanting to be the 'smart' one in the group.

Or, they don't consider themselves the ones who should passing this information along. You don't necessarily have to teach it, but share it and pass it along to those that can.

Don't hoard your training experiences and information you obtain from classes. Share them, talk about them, show and tell others what you have learned.

Share! Don't Hoard!
