Training firefighters to control the smoke (unburnt fuel) in the area where firefighters make entry. If you can see the fire then the best response is always to put out the fire. But what if you have to move through a smoke laden environment to get to the burning surfaces? Ventilation may be an option (vertical, horizontal, forced). But what if is not practical and it is essential to make entry rapidly to perform search and rescue? Gas cooling can be very effective in small to medium sized compartments.
