Where firefighters come to talk training

Early yesterday we were notified by our good friend and founding FOOL John a.k.a. "Bart" Simpson that in Australia a blogger writing about a sex offender firefighter arrested in Australia was using a photograph of a deceased firefighter killed in the line of duty, John Curry that was posted on fireengineering website. The blogger was using firefighter Curry's photo as a generic photo of a firefighter. Two things are highly offensive regarding this man's actions. First there is nothing generic about the photo of a firefighter who was killed in the line of duty, that is a photo of a hero. Second using the photo of anyone in an article about a person of such disrepute is absolutely unacceptable at any level, use the photo of the real creep. But such is the nature of blogging. There are bloggers with integrity who write incredibly fantastic pieces such as our good friend Dave Stater and then there are guys like this character in Australia. I guess the lesson for us all here is that we need to pick and choose who we read with greater scrutiny. Here's a link to our good friend at Stater 911 and his thoughts on the subject http://statter911.com/2009/11/13/quick-takes-333/
