Battalion Chief Steve White is a twenty two-year veteran with the Town of Fishers Fire Department, a 120 member full-service Internationally Accredited fire department in Hamilton County. In addition to his shift commander responsibilities he oversees all facets of the department’s technical rescue program. Under the direction of the Hamilton County Fire Chief’s he serves at the Team Leader for the Hamilton County Technical Rescue Team.
A member of the Indiana Fire Chief Association, Steve serves as co-chair of the Technical Rescue Section along with Brian Kazmierzak of Clay Fire Territory.
He currently serves as a member of the IDHS rescue certification task force, working to develop the state’s technical rescue certification program. Steve also served as the lead instructor for the Heavy Truck Extrication HOT program at FDIC in 2007 and 2008. As an active instructor he has taught various fire and rescue classes throughout the state for the last fifteen years as an IFSAC accredited instructor II/III.
He is currently an active member of his department’s strategic planning, and training and education boards. He has previously served as a member of his department’s health and safety board, dive team, and administrative review board. Steve also lectures for private industry organizations on the topics of trench, confined space safety and emergency preparedness.
