-Your difficulty attracting young people is to what is being experienced here in the USA. I'm not sure if it is due to the type of martial discipline, the nature of being involved with something larger than oneself or the low tech nature of firefighting but it is becoming increasingly difficult to attract the younger folk into firefighting.
-Or maybe I'm just getting older. I'm certain that it is a sign of age when one begins questioning the morals and ethics of the younger generation. hahaha
-I enjoyed the pictures.

Michael Bricault said… -Das ist unglaublich. That citizens can be pressed into service for the fire department.
-There are small communities in the States that do not have a fire department, but not many. In the smaller towns the volunteer fire department is often perceived as not just a community service but also as a social organization/club, therefore there is usually not a real deficiency in the volunteer ranks.
-Thanks for the information on the lighting device in the photo.

Michael Bricault said… -Thanks or adding me to your friends list. I am surprised to learn that you are a Volunteer Fire Service. I was completely unaware that Germany used volunteers. Viel Glueck.
-Can you tell me what the device on the tripod is in the 2nd photo? Is it something you use or was it left by the occupant?
