Bio:
I am currently a Captain with Franklin Fire & Rescue and have been employed there since September 01, 1987. I have experience as a station captain as well as shift supervisor for many years now. I have been in the fire service since August 02, 1982. I am very enthusiastic about sharing my knowledge and expertise to your organization.

I am responsible for the development of the 2014 & 2015 weekly in-service training schedule, the 2014 & 2015 monthly safety topic training schedule and the 2014 volunteer monthly fire drills. I administer all of the FIT testing for our career and volunteer staff.

I have been the conducting over 99 percent of the fire inspections for the past several years and also co-designed the current pre-fire incident plan system we currently have in place. I have personally conducted over 95 percent of the pre-fire plans that are currently in place.

I am currently responsible for the direct supervision of 7 career staff and a minimum of 3 volunteers on duty each shift. The number of staff that I am responsible for can drastically increase above those numbers depending of the calls for service that we could respond to at any time.

Some of my accomplishments have been receiving several awards to include being the two time recipient of the career staff award for Franklin Fire & Rescue, the two time recipient of the Jr. Firefighter of the year, and two time recipient of the Chief's Special award for Courtland Volunteer Fire Department. I received squadsman of the year for Courtland Volunteer Rescue. I was the recipient of the Silver Dominion Award from the Virginia State Police.

I am very enthusiastic when it comes to training and informing my staff of new methods for making our jobs safer, easier and gaining a higher customer satisfaction rating every single time we have public interaction. I have managed multiple multi-jurisdictional responses to include being first on scene at the 2008 tornado in Suffolk as a part-time medic, 2 train derailments with multiple patients and fires, the flood of 1999, and multiple fire incidents throughout our response area.
