Bio:
Chief Sullivan has 33 years of progressively responsible firefighting and EMS experience and 20 years as a supervisor. He is currently pursuing his Masters of Public Administration program through Southern Utah University, and holds a Bachelors in Public Safety Administration and an Associates in Fire Science.

As Deputy Chief of the Weber Fire District he oversees all Operations for the District; including EMS, Fire response, Hazmat Operations, and Training. He is also an adjunct instructor with the Utah Fire and Rescue Academy (UFRA) teaching Command, the Officer I program (required for promotion in most departments), and two courses the he and Chief Kevin Ward developed for UFRA: Officer Development and the Promotional Process. He also has an extensive background in teaching other subjects including Truck Company Operations, Community Emergency Response Teams, Emergency Preparedness, and is a certified Weapons of Mass Destruction Instructor through the Center for Domestic Preparedness (a branch of FEMA). Currently, Chief Sullivan has been asked by UFRA to develop their Mayday curriculum that will be delivered Statewide (“Mayday” is a declaration that a firefighter is in a life-threatening emergency).

Other than his involvement with UFRA, he is also very involved in other State and Local level committees/associations, to include: Immediate Past President of the Weber County Fire Officer’s Association, current Committee Chair for the Fire Sub-Committee (to the Weber/Morgan Dispatch Operations Advisory Board), a member of the Weber/Morgan EMS Committee, the State Chiefs Association, the State’s Professional Development Committee, the EMS Rule’s Task Force, and is an Information Liaison Officer (ILO) with the Statewide Information and Analysis Center (SIAC).
