Chief,

Thank you for your reply to my blog. I don't know Capt. Van Sant; however, from everything I'm told I would like to know him. I actually have several Hoosier connections. Both my kids went to Ball State one graduated and the other a freshman Go Cards 12 and 0. My daughter's husband if from Elkhart and we have a cottage in Middlebury.

Thanks again Joel

Hey Joel,

Just a note to let you know I left a comment on your question for driver/operator qualifications in groups, pump operations "whats the latest". There is an attachment of our sog on qualifications and driver evaulation. has worked great for us. Even with the minimun of 40 hrs on the road the average is realy 60 upon completion and certification.

STAY SAFE !! Dennis

Joel,
I just don't know, but for a department head I imagine requiring a college degree is within reason. My main complaint is the requirement for the lower field level chief officers. Once you make it to chief of department you are more involved with administrative issuesand events that college level education will assist you with.
