Hey Jeff, When we get new folks or have promotions we are sworn into our new positions at a ceremony that is usually held at our board meetings. We have family, friends, fellow firemen or whoever you choose pin your new badge on if you want and are given the Oath of Office by the Chief of the Department. It is pretty neat and a little more than here's your badge, don't get burned!! If you want i have the Oath of Office that we have to recite.
