"The radio's are not assigned to positions, just there for the guys to grab as needed.   The PD ID's are not for accountability as much as they are for tracking at dispatch in regards to who calls dispatch.  If you look at the…"

"Thank you Walt. Your system is very common. With the 3 radios that are grabbed with the SCBA are they positional radios? meaning if I was the nozzle I would grab radio 1 and mask 1. Or do you jut take what's available.   We actually…"

"Tom, We have a combination department with the majority of the department being volunteer.  We also carry our gear with us so if there is a call within city limits we can respond directly to the scene whereas on rural calls we respond to a…"

"Great topic and a lot has been accomplished. However, the first piece of the puzzle is following your Departments SOP. If a system can ID you the IC has to know where you "should be".   Outside of a system that can track you inside…"

"There is 2d technology on this but I heard it's not so great. If some company would get off their butts and help us out using 3D that would be the best but could they make it affordable would be the question! Until we push the right people to…"

"Benett, I'm glad to hear that something like that exist. It's a definite step in the right direction. Now that you have found how to record who is on scene, have you had any luck in tracking where they are on scene? Thanks, Walt"

Eddie, how are you? Check out my forum "Firefighter identification on the fireground". It touches on firefighter accountability and how they are identified on the fireground. I'm interested to know how your department identifies your firefighters. Also, I'd like your input on the subject.

Thanks, Keith

Please allow me to invite you to a site designed by responders for responders... the crew that is doing it is CISM multilevel trained and are there for the guys after the bad calls. It helps the responders that do not yet have a team or would be worried that they asking for help would be seen as weakness. Please join and share it when you can. As a chaplain with over 25 years of service to fire departments I am excited with it's potential to provide support.
