It will be interesting to see how these new packs will integrate with our existing ones for FAST purposes. Is NIST currently testing these? Any idea on the time frame for full production and on the market?

I have the inventor and Dr. rown working on a piece right now another publication produced a piece by a third party with inacturate information. We will publish the inventors and manufactures informationas soon as final DOT testing is complete...
This air pack seems to be a big improvement from what we know have. How about posting some additional info about the technicial aspects and cost of the pack.

- Chief Bobby Halton ret. is currently editor in chief of Fire Engineering magazine and education director of the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC). Chief Halton is a native New Yorker. He began his career in structural firefighting with the Albuquerque (NM) Fire Department and rose through the ranks to include chief of training. Bobby was chief of operations until his retirement from Albuquerque in 2004. He then became chief of the Coppell (TX) Fire Department, Bobby left Coppell to assume the duties as editor in chief of Fire Engineering Magazine.
Chief Halton is a graduate of the University of New Mexico, left a member in good standing with the International Association of Fire Fighters, is a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, and has served on several of the National Fire Protection Association technical committees. He is active with the National Fallen Firefighters Life Safety Initiatives. He has done extensive speaking and training for the fire service in the United States, Canada and internationally.

Bruno Lamarre said… - Calgary runs a pretty good Dept. My wife has family out there and we try and make it out at least once a year.
They have a pretty sweet training division, worth the visit, if you have time. They run some very nice rigs. Staffing seems to be quite the hot topic, or it was a year ago. They still have minimum staffing issues in the stations that run more then one rig. They have used pre-fabricated temporary stations as the city is growing so fast.
If you have the chance, and want to try the best restaurant in all of western north america drive down to the Longview Steakhouse, 102 Morisson Road, Longview (403-558-2000). It's about an hour south of calgary but worth the drive. You will need reservations cause it's tiny.
