I recently released a 90 minute documentary on the fire academy experience. It's called: "Ricky's Rib Shack, a Firefighter's Journey" Although not necessarily a training program (it was produced to educate the public on the firefighter's job) Many fire instructors can gain great insight to training tactics that really work. This film isn't about all aspects of training, it focuses on the job of the firefighter inside the burning building -- the part of our job the public is least familiar with. (Sorry Hollywood). In this film we cover high rise, warehouse, and confined space firefighting and S&R. The benefit of a program like this is: It not only educates, but also entertains. It's dramatic and suspenseful, but more detailed than most fire docs out there. We got our cameras right in the center of everything. As close to the action as you can get. So all this to say, please check out our website. We would really like to get this film out there to the public to show them, once and for all, the reality of firefighting. If the public's going to accept it. It's because the firefighters accept it. Of course we're selling the DVD's, but we financed this baby ourselves and need to recoup those costly expenses. Unfortuneately I dont think I am ready to write my own book, but would be very interested in reviewing books and assisting if needed.
