What are some opinions out there about the changes to the SAFER grant and related?

When we get politicians to understand that these grants go together, maybe we can move forward Brother. The idea of reducing AFG money to give it to SAFER, I guess sounds good to the folks in DC but for the common folks like us, my Dept. is losing members through attrition. We are down to 7 member crews from 9. We can't afford to stick to what the SAFER grant rules are, no money. IMHO, I would gladly pay pay $5 dollars, that's all I can afford, to any of the Capital Hill gang to crawl into a good basement job with me and find out what our world is truely about! They have no idea.
