Where firefighters come to talk training

What is your departments' procedure for an activation of the emergency button on someones radio at a fire scene? Is it different if it happens while not on a scene?
Our County has been using hte 800 Mhz radios for a little over a year now. Our current procedure is:
If the Emergency button is pressed then Dispatch will call the firefighter and ask if there is an emergency if so then the dispatcher will call the IC and let him know the name associated with the radio in distress. It is pretty much the same if not on scene except since there is no IC to call, the dispatcher only checks with the Firefighter and then will dispatch the appropriate agency if there is a true emergency, if not they just make sure the firefighter resets his radio correctly.

That is the general response to a EMER button activation on the 800 mhz radios and many departments also add a roll call to an EMER Activation. The piece that is missing however is some sort of GPS locator in each radio that should be an integral component of location a missing firefighter. This technology is available and should be part in parcel to any radio carried by the firefighter.
