I don't know the all of circumstances surrounding this incident, but it's my general opinion that police officers dressed as FF's in order to apprehend a criminal places real firefighters at risk. Unfortunately, the next time the criminal may shoot first! On the other hand if there are lives at risk, such as a hostage situation....do whatever it takes to save the lives. I'm not being critical, this is just a general opinion on the issue.

I have not seen the story yet, so I don't know the circumstances. But I see absolutely NO reason that cops should dress up like firefighters to perform any law enforcement activities. We are confronted with enough risk throughout our duties. We are generally welcome anywhere that we need to go, if police are now using the relationships and images that we have earned by providing the services we do, they are going to destroy that trust and potentially place us in positions that we do not want to be in. This is just one firefighters opinion.
A firefighter dressed and acting as a police officer would be a felony.......
The NH Firefighters asked the police to NEVER do that again because of safety of their Firefighters.
