Where firefighters come to talk training

I'm looking for pros and cons about the Paul Conway American Heritage Leather Helmet. I'm going to have this helmet for at least 15 years. I like the price, but I'm looking for feedback. Thank you.

Ever since I saw my first NY'er a long time ago, I have always had a love for the natural and think the helmets are the best looking in that color.

Thanks for sharing the link brother.

I have the N5A and use hi-temp engine block paint, it comes in gloss or matte and does an excellent job of dealing with the heat and doesn't chip easily either

I personally think and this is only my opinion. But I have tried both the modern and traditional helmets and I have to say its a trade off betwen form and function. The traditional helmets look great, however, their heavy, bulky and just not as good as a modern helmet espesially for interior fire ops. If your a chief officer or dont plan on being an interior firefighter than its not an issue. I have seen alot of people go back to the modern style and hang their tradional helmet in their locker becouse they get hung up on way to much stuff and they dont like the high profile of them. I would love to wear mine, but for me its not worth it. Especially if your crawling through a low profile area and you could otherwise get through it with a modern and you have to remove the traditional then whats the point of wearing it anyways?
