Where firefighters come to talk training

Good morning everyone. I am looking for some opinions with your resaons for the following.

I need to conduct a Firefighter I program for the volunteer companies. In the past we have always utilized IFSTA.

The state of CT does not recommend and leaves it up the the local instructor. What are you using and why?

Georgia has recently adopted IFSTA after having Jones & Bartlett for several years. Why they changed I am not sure. I have the current Delmar and IFSTA programs, and both are very well done. They are both customizable to fit local needs, like changing photos to show local conditions and methods as opposed to the "canned" approach. I would contact each major publisher and see if you can get an instructor's evaluation copy and decide for yourself. That is how I got the Delmar and the IFSTA programs. I like the Delmar more myself, but the state teaches from IFSTA. It really doesn't matter which program you use, as they all teach from the same book, NFPA 1001.
