Fire Engineering Training Community

Where firefighters come to talk training

Alot of people cannot attend FDIC the entire week and are eager to find out when specific classes are being taught. That info is up on fdic.com site now. Hopefully next year you can stay for the entire week. You don't want to miss a minute! And I know--I helped select the classes!

The Florida Crew (myself, B/C Herb Smith-Southern Manatee FD, Chief Tom Hennessy-Southern Manatee FD, D/C Craig Aberbach-Cape Coral FD, Lt. Jerry/Jay Jensen-Sarasota County FD, Lt. Troy Bercot-Cedar Hammock FD) will be teaching Advanced extrication Techniques as a H.O.T. class.
The class will include a four station rotation;
1) The Florida Floor Jack technique
2) The Oyster Cracker technique
3) SUV Extrication Tactics
4) School Bus Extrication - windows & doors
If anyone would like additional info or would like to sponsor such training at their site, go to www.StarfireTS.com.

I will also teach a 1.5 hr workshop at FDIC on Wednesday. The subject is Temporary Hurricane Shutters & FF Ops, based on a Fire Engineering article from June 2005.
