Where firefighters come to talk training

Benefits denied to children of Rachel Wilson

If you haven't had a chance to read the article which explains the reasons that the Department of Justice has denied the claim for benefits for Rachel Wilsons children here's the link

I find this very upsetting on several levels, first how come the Justice Department does not recognize a recruit firefighter in a training exercise as having a responsibility to respond?
Second how come the department didn't respond in a timely manner?
Third I'm tired of politicians continually throwing responsibility back on previous administrations such as this mayor did ridiculous!
I would love to hear what you guys think as well. The Wilson kids deserve this benefit that's the least this country can do for them.

Bobbi:
Just another blow and demonstrated incompetency from this city’s administration and leadership compounding the aftermath of the death of Firefighter Wilson. When does effective leadership ensure that the elected and appointed officials look out for the interests of the firefighters of a city? Where does the buck stop? Obviously nowhere in Baltimore based on the Baltimore Sun article and the notice from the US Justice Department. The Baltimore Sun article on November 4, related to this denial from the Justice Department, has brought to a new level the “blame game”. There are so many “fingers pointed at everyone else” in this issue there appears to be no accountability at any level in this city government. The blatant disregard for life safety in the death of Firefighter Wilson should be viewed as negligent homicide or fratricide but no prosecutor chose to take that route. Instead the family and children of Firefighter Wilson continually suffer at the hands of incompetent elected and appointed officials. Justice has not been served in this matter.
