Stihl TS 460 Cut off saw

My previous dept. uses the same saw, but is using the Warthog blade along with concrete and metal blades.

My currenty uses the K950 FD saw with the carbide tip blades...

Both are great choices, but I prefer the K950 w/ carbide tip blades...

Did you guys use the arbor adapter with the Stihl saw that Warthog sales? If so, do you know if the arbor adapter will work with other carbide tip blades or is it thicker than other blades?

I could find out, but all I know is that I can switch blades like any other cut off saw. Honestly... I have no clue what the Arbor adapter is.

The Stihl TS 460 Cut off saw comes with a 20mm arbor while fire service saws like partner use a 1 inch arbor for their blades. This determines the size of the h*** in the middle of the blade. Warthog makes an arbor adapter specifically for using their blade with the Stihl cut off saws. I gather that you guys had to use an arbor adapter to put the Warthog blade on that Stihl saw. Stihl makes a chainsaw designed for the fire service ( MS 460 Rescue ) but they have been reluctant to design a cut off saw for the fire service because they probably don't won't to take on the liability! Our department is big on Stihl because there is a service center next door to our main station. While I love their Rescue chainsaw, I am stuck trying to find proper blades for the cut off saw at an affordable price.

Blades will not be the issue. You should be able to change arbor size with adaptors. The problem is the TS 460 if I am correct is a 72 cc saw. The K950 is a 96 cc saw. This makes all the differance when cutting with the aggresive blades. We bought several TS460 a few years back and now are trying to switch back to the bigger saw. We also were told by our stihl rep it voids the warrenty. Just make sure if a saw goes down you take the aggresive blade off before sending it in.

Copy that! I appreciate the feedback. I would love to go to the Stihl 700 or switch back to partner, but unfortunately we're stuck with the TS 460's.
