Where firefighters come to talk training

What is your department doing for recruiting and retaining quality members for your department?

What have you identified that works and doesn't work?

What is your turnover? Some turnover is expected, what is your department deemed as an acceptable amount?

What is your budget for recruitment and retention efforts?

Also provide some demographic data to allow others to be able to compare their efforts to yours.

-Population
-Response Area
-Size of Department
-Run Data
-Pay Rate, if applicable
-Budget for recruitment and/or retention efforts

Right now our department has a very complacent "Word of mouth" recruiting program. And yes it works like it sounds like it would, not very well. Right now I am in the process of getting posters and signs made up but running into some financial restraints. Our turnover is not very high, when we get members in the majority of the time they are fairly dedicated. Right now as I mentioned earlier we do not have a set aside budget for our recruitment program. My tentative plans are to have our posters up in our public buildings and businesses and have signs out around our townships. I will follow up with the successfulness of our attempts.
