Where firefighters come to talk training

Any FF's out there using Kettlebells as a part of their workout program? Not sure what those are? www.dragondoor.com ,or google it! Tons of info out there. I've been using them for about 2 yrs, and my fitness has been brought to an entire other level. I truly believe they have helped to make me to perform better at my job duties. They're being used quite a bit now by US special forces, secret service agents, SWAT teams, FF's, MMA fighters, and other elite athletes. They're no joke, and perfect for out job duties. Check em out!

I love kb work!!! I rotate them in every other day. I prefer doing kettlebell over cardio. I do timed set of swings and snatches. Then I jump on the stair climber to finish myself off. I also work them in on my Firefighter Combat Challenge prep work. Here is my FFCC circuit:

5mins on stair climber, 20 "rope pulls" (kb world High Pull) , 20 kb swings, 20 snatches each side then repeat x3

Kettlebells are a great investment but you should seek professional training. They can be a little tricky to learn all by yourself. Capt. Mike Stefano (FDNY Retired) is a coach for the AKC (American Kettlebell Club). Google him or AKC and you'll by headed in the right direction.

Have Fun!

I'll have to give your circuit a try. And yes, I agree, if used properly they will PREVENT injury. Used wrong, they will CAUSE injury! I was lucky enough to learn from some experienced instructors. YouTube is NOT the place to learn KB training! I am familar with Mike Stefano. The boys in NY are lucky to have him running a program for them like that. I hope to one day attend a RKC certification class by Pavel.

Take care, Stay safe!
