It is 1500 hours on a weekday. It is 72°. Winds are to the east at 5 MPH. You are dispatched to a multiple vehicle accident at the intersection of Jamison Drive and Wheatley Ave. One of the involved vehicles was reported to be a tanker truck. Engine 14 is first to arrive and report that a 5,000 gallon tanker is sitting in the middle of the intersection along with a passenger car (#2) that crashed into it. The driver of the passenger car requires extrication and the driver of the tanker is already out of the vehicle. Another passenger car (#3) that swerved to avoid the accident struck a utility pole that has snapped and fallen. There are several severed electrical lines. There are two passengers trapped inside the second car.
You arrive on scene and notice an unknown liquid leaking from the tanker. You see a placard with a red background on the tanker. You request a Haz Mat Team. As you are nearing the Command Post, you notice students from the nearby school starting to gather near the scene.
