Where firefighters come to talk training
TIC Training
I am new in training and was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for TIC/survival training?

We did a training that really got the guys attention. In large acquired structure we play hide and go seek. One company would hide in dark and other using tic would find them. They learned image interperation, understanding thermal foot prints.

We took a flash hood and taped the hood to the TIC. So when you put the flash hood on the TIC was attached to the hood and you could not see anything but the screen on the TIC allowing you to use it in a lighted room or dark room if you want. The training led up to only being able to use the TIC in a structure to search and then when we were deep in the structure they would take the TIC away and make you find your way out. To reinforce not to use only the TIC. So they made us very comfortable using it and to understand and see different images, but then they should how using only the TIC can get you in trouble. Was real good training.
