Yes, when you give them the saw for the first time, your explaining why and where the h*** is going and how big or small the h*** needs to be. They get to feel the weight, understand the balance of the saw. They see what there doing and the instructor gets to see them do it with out having to cut a real h*** yet.
Our company is in the process of developing that as we speak. This does give the most realistic practice you can get with out cutting on the real deal. Take the chain off and you can go through all the motions.
I can agree with you that we should train like we work and that is what you are doing with this training aid. It is very much ideal for the new recruits coming in to the job. But how often do we get the chance to cut on real buildings other than a roof prop in our training prop cities if you have them? This tool allows Engine or Truck companies to stop at buildings in there response areas and go through the step like a pre-fire inspection. You can ladder that commercial building get on the roof and mark it up. Then wash or brush it off and you won’t get in to trouble for graffiti.
Andrew, As you know, we have used your product in the trail phase of training in the Truck Academies we provide nationwide. I will say the overwhelming number of studnets enjoy and apprieciate the devise as a training aid. We have places the device on Truck 37 as a training aid for roof drills on area occupancies. THis has lead to a more realistic training environment. Thanks again...
